10 Ways to Save on Your Gas Bills
I presented one of those articles, before and during my research I encountered more than 10, plus a couple of ideas that will help drive last longer and reduce wear on your engine and parts. Here they are:
1. Especially when driving on the road to keep the windows closed. The people who designed the machine designed to get the least amount of drag with the windows closed, so open the windows while driving can increase air resistance and reduce fuel consumption. Doing this alone can increase your miles per gallon by up to 10%!
2. Reducing the speed and acceleration, while on the highway you can use the excess gas. This usually happens when someone is weaving in and out of traffic and slow down when people in front of them is still slower than they are and accelerate Get Around (you know what I mean)! As a side note and this is to prevent tailgating. Tailgating is dangerous to you and the driver ahead of you and does nothing to improve gas mileage! Another thing that will help is to use cruise control if possible, even in city limits! This will keep a constant speed and to minimize the acceleration and deceleration. Not only that, but it will reduce some stress on you!
3. When approaching a hill, start the first approach. Try to avoid speeding up the hillside, as then you are fighting gravity and is trying to shift the weight of your car faster. If speed up the first hill to eliminate the severity of the equation and reduce gas consumption.
4. When driving, do not "ride the brake" or keep your foot on the clutch pedal a little. Mount the brake causes excessive mechanical resistance and increases fuel consumption, keeping the foot on the clutch, even slightly, causing the clutch to wear out prematurely and cause extra visits to the mechanic that could be costly.
5. Bad roads are a big problem when it comes to fuel consumption. Avoid rough roads whenever possible, because the conduction of soil, gravel or even on a very rough, even if it is open you can steal up to 30% of gasoline consumption! When driving on the road also take part in that drive in the left lane. Because very few people drive there, the race is much sweeter than the right lane. It makes a smoother ride and increased my gas mileage!
6. Seek alternative routes to and from your destination. There's always another path that is shorter, direct and faster route to take at this time. Angles, curves and lane jumping (as in the road) you can use a large amount of gas again! I remember that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line!
7. While it may seem that traffic lights are usually programmed with the driver in mind. Driving at a constant speed limit will increase your chances of having a "green light" All the Way thus improving fuel economy by not having to stop in all respects.
8. I know this will not please many people who have this problem, but I will say the same. . . You know that fresh vinyl head you have with your car? Well, the car is designed to work without a vinyl roof and a vinyl top just destroy the aerodynamic flow of air in your vehicle. So what I am suggesting here? Remove the top in vinyl! This returns the document to its aerodynamic shape and improve gas mileage. . . Think about it!
9. When parking the car, be aware of where you park. Park so that when you arrive by car to leave, just put your car in the car and drive. Try to avoid parking spaces back, even if you can draw directly - this defeats the purpose.
10. Now, this is common sense, but many people do not think about it. Get your regular tune up done to ensure more gas mileage for your car. Melody regular scheduled maintenance and replacement of air filters when needed can promote better airflow through the engine of his car, and then increase gasoline consumption.
And some tips on how to help your long-term vehicle / better!
1. They have done the regular maintenance of your car to inspect the suspension and chassis parts, and so on, occasional misalignment. Negative shocks, tires, bent, broken springs, etc. create drag, reducing fuel consumption, and of course are not safe to drive at highway speeds.
2. Say It's Summertime - you do not have snow tires? Do you regularly use all-terrain tires on a car / truck? Take the tire off unless absolutely necessary! Running tires with deep tread tires ruin your miles per gallon and shit!
3. The tires have been designed by the manufacturer to be inflated to a specified pressure. Beyond this pressure, and over inflate the tires is dangerous and threatens the possibility of explosion and explosion. Running with stealing tires inflated your gas mileage, such as tires flex too. When you have your tires rotated and balanced must turn to make sure they are in perfect running order. Using radio that have proven to save fuel!
4. To avoid excessive wear on the automatic transmission should be allowed to cool when your car is low or the traffic is stopped. Level crossings and traffic lights along two other points that can be done. The change in neutral helps to slow down a bit "of its transmission and reduces wear on the inner workings.
